2020 has been a crazy year! Through bushfires followed by a global pandemic, international and state border closures, home schooling and lots of uncertainty for many women and their families, we are certainly due for some well deserved ‘girl-time’ in the great outdoors to help us unwind and reset while getting ‘moving’ again.
Welcome to Aurora’s ‘Wild Women Adventures’ series for 2021!
As the name suggests, Aurora’s Wild Women Adventures provide an all female group experience of a series of outdoor adventures of varying physicality to enable women to ‘try out’ adventuring in our own backyard while also supporting local Australian localities and local providers.
“This is a great way for Women to ‘re-wild’ in the great outdoors after a challenging year. The mental and physical benefits to walking, being in the outdoors and of experiencing community and connection are well known. At at time when connection has been more strained than ever our Wild Women will get to meet new people, get outdoors and get moving again’ Aurora Adventures Managing Director Ms Smith said.
All programs include at least a 6 week (supervised or remote) pre-adventure training program to get trekkers ready , a dedicated Aurora trek leader and medic on adventure and some ‘special’ additions to ensure the finer things in life are also experienced along the way – hint – did someone say wine and cheese?
“It’s surprising how inspired you become, when you are training in a group who are about to embark on an expedition. These sessions are also a really great way to connect with likeminded women,” Ms Smith said. “Additionally, these adventures ensure that we are ‘spending local’ in communities and tourist locations that need our support now more than ever’
Aurora Adventures offers charity and community expeditions, events and experiences that help you change your life and your world at the same time.
