Bay of Fires and Freycinet

Join the MND and Me Foundation’s Million Steps for MND team as we take on sections of the stunning Bay of Fires and the Freycinet National Park area in Tasmania and raise funds to help fund research and provide much needed care, equipment and services to support people and their families living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in Queensland.

Our Itinerary Price Inclusions Exclusions

ITINERARY

Saturday 20 February – Today we meet everyone in Hobart at our accommodation. In the evening we have a Welcome Dinner and stay overnight at the Travelodge.

Sunday 21 February – Pick up in the morning is at the Travelodge before we Transfer to Freycinet. In the afternoon we complete our first walk, either the Friendly Beaches walk (5 km) or for those who are up for the challenge you can take on Mt Amos (4km). Accommodation for tonight is at Freycinet Lodge.

Monday 22 February –  In the morning we complete the Hazards Beach and Wineglass Bay Circuit (11 km), before transferring to the Bay of Fires Conservation Area in the afternoon. Accommodation for the next three nights is at Panorama, St Helens.

Tuesday 23 February – Our first day at the Bay of Fires takes us from Mt William National Park to Deep Creek (18kms).

Wednesday 24 February – Today we trek from Deep Creek to Anson’s Bay (17kms).

Thursday 25 February – Today’s trek takes us along the Bay of Fires Coastal Walk from Policeman’s Point to the Gardens (13km).

Friday 26 February – In the morning we complete our final walk along the Humbug Bay Loop (10km). On completion, we transfer to Hobart and check in to our accommodation at the Travelodge before a celebration dinner.

Saturday 27 February – Depart Hobart.

  • Strength and Conditioning Program prepared by our Aurora Exercise Physiologists specifically for this adventure – 8 weeks of 2 fully supervised sessions for Brisbane trekkers (Gym 1 hour and Mt Coot-tha 3 hours weekly) or our 12 week Remote Preparation Program
  • Personal travel insurance.
  • Accommodation in Tasmania at Travel Lodge Hobart, Tidal Waters Resort and Freycinet Lodge
